Lena Österberg is one of the most highly qualified equity research analysts in the Swedish market. She has been with Carnegie for eleven years, serving as Head of Equity Research Sweden for the past six.
For several years, Ms Österberg has focused on integrating the sustainability perspective into Carnegie equity research. Her achievements in this area include founding the Carnegie Sustainability Award and producing the Carnegies Sustainability Guide, a research study covering 350 companies from a sustainability perspective.
“We understood early on how important it is to integrate ESG into our research work. Carnegie has built up market-leading knowledge and experience in this area, which is only going to get more important to our clients and society in general as time goes on. By establishing ESG as a separate focus area, we will level up our ambition not only within our own advisory, but company-wide,” says Österberg.
Head of Sustainability Research & Strategy is a new position aimed at integrating ESG in all advisory at Carnegie. This is a key initiative at Carnegie intended to sharpen the company’s focus on sustainability.
“Investors can make a real difference by tilting their investments towards sustainable solutions. When capital is reallocated based on ESG metrics, both between and within sectors, it ups the pressure on companies to transform their business models to more sustainable solutions. This is a powerful dynamic that will have profound impact on social development. With our knowledge and experience we can help our clients invest more sustainably,” says Österberg.
Lena Österberg took up the role of Head of Sustainability, Research and Strategy on 1 January 2021.
